Here at Balmoral Cottage Farms, we breed and raise Saddleback Large White Cross pigs. The Saddleback component gives great flavour and good personality and mothering traits whilst the Large White component helps to produce a leaner and faster finishing animal. Our pigs are hand-fed grain and apple sourced from the Huon Valley in addition to free-ranged grazing.
Our pigs are slaughtered by a professional abattoir located in the Northeast of Tasmania. Pork can be purchased as:
Whole Carcasses - approx. 40kg
or
Half Carcasses - approx. 20kg
Professionally butchered into a selection of chops, roasts, bellies etc. Additionally, this can be customised to your individual requirements.
Pigs are slaughtered at approximately 16 weeks to ensure a lean product with a superior taste.
Additionally, we offer the Saddleback Large White Cross pigs for sale as weaners if you fancy raising them yourself or as ready to slaughter pigs.
